  • BNSF – The following three BNSF stations in Alberta (Canada) have been activated (changed IsActive = True) per Railinc in alphabetical order: Lethbridge AB, Tabor AB and Wilson AB.
  • CCUO – Moved Chemung IL station on CCUO in Illinois to the correct geographical location at 88.685776W, 42.413168N per research.

ARR realignment modifications in Alaska, Washington (state) and British Columbia (Canada)

Realigned the existing rail barge ferry line on ARR using updated mapping shapefile resource per customer request. This rail barge ferry serves the following stations on ARR: Seattle WA and Whittier AK.


BNSF track operating rights changes in Alberta (Canada)

  1. Added BNSF track operating rights onto link segments in Alberta between Tabor AB and Dunmore AB in order to serve Dunmore AB station on BNSF per Railinc.
  2. Added BNSF track operating rights onto link segments in Alberta between the wye located at 110.615887W, 49.985516N and Medicine Hat AB in order to serve Medicine Hat AB station on BNSF per Railinc.


BNSF track operating rights changes in Manitoba (Canada)

  1. Added BNSF track operating rights onto link segments in Manitoba between Rugby MB and Selkirk MB in order to serve Selkirk MB station on BNSF per Railinc.
  2. Added BNSF track operating rights onto link segments in Manitoba between Transcona Jct MB and Molson MB in order to serve Molson MB station on BNSF per Railinc.
  3. Added BNSF track operating rights onto link segments in Manitoba between Rathwell MB and Fannystelle MB in order to serve Rathwell MB station on BNSF and Elk Creek MB station on BNSF per Railinc.


CCRL track operating rights changes in Ohio

Removed CCRL track operating rights from link segments in Ohio from the wye located at 81.626753W, 41.462810N to Glenwillow OH per WE request. CCRL no longer has operating rights on the WE-owned tracks. This operating agreement was terminated on June 1, 2023. The newly deactivated CCRL stations from west to east include: Miles Ave OH and Glenwillow OH.


CFS track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in Quebec (Canada)

Added CFS track ownership rights and track operating rights onto link segments in Quebec between Vallee Jct QC and Black Lake QC in order to serve the following CFS stations per Railinc. These CFS stations from north to south include: Vallee Jct QC, Tring Jct QC, Carey Mine QC, East Broughton QC, Leeds QC, Robertsonville QC, Thetford Mines QC and Black Lake QC.


CN track operating rights changes in Nova Scotia (Canada)

  1. Added CN track operating rights onto link segments in Nova Scotia between Abercrombie NS and Stellarton NS in order to serve the newly activated station Abercrombie NS on CN.
  2. Added CN track operating rights onto link segments in Nova Scotia between the wye located at 62.644294W, 45.590687N to Trenton NS in order to serve the newly activated Trenton NS station on CN.


CNAT track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in Alaska and British Columbia (Canada) 

The CN Aquatrain, a rail barge ferry line operated by Canadian National Railway between Prince Rupert BC and Whittier AK has ended this sea-going service in April 2021 per research and confirmation by multiple sources. All CNAT link segments have been permanently deleted from the PC*Miler Rail database. The following CNAT stations have been deactivated: Prince Rupert BC and Whittier AK.


CWA/BNSF abandoned track segments in Washington (state)

Deleted CWA-owned and BNSF-operating rights abandoned track link segments in Washington (state) located between 120.472503W, 46.511513N and 120.254063W, 46.397360N per customer request.


INRD track operating rights changes in Illinois and Indiana

  1. The following track operating rights have been restored per INRD request in order to properly represent track operating rights and/or haulage agreements between INRD and partner railroad companies.
  2. Restored INRD track operating rights onto link segments between Chicago IL and Dolton IL in order to serve the following INRD station: Chicago IL.
  3. Restored INRD track operating rights onto link segments between Clearing IL and Dolton IL in order to serve the following INRD station: Clearing IL. 
  4. Restored INRD track operating rights onto link segments between Dolton IL and Dewey IN in order to serve the following INRD station: Chicago IL.
  5. Restored INRD track operating rights onto link segments between Elnora IN and Oakland City IN in order to serve the following INRD stations: Maysville IN and Oakland City IN.
  6. Restored INRD track operating rights onto link segments between Sullivan IN and Oaktown IN in order to serve the following INRD stations: Carlisle IN and Oaktown IN.


KRS track operating rights changes in Ohio 

Removed KRS track operating rights from link segments in Ohio. KRS is a defunct railroad company as of September 30, 2023 per Railinc. The newly deactivated stations from north to south include: Clarington OH, Omal OH and Long Ridge OH.


LTR track operating rights changes in Indiana

Added LTR track operating rights onto link segments in Indiana between 87.507340W, 41.630177N and East Chicago IL in order to serve East Chicago IL station on LTR per research.


MC track operating rights changes in Massachusetts

  1. Added MC track operating rights onto link segments in Massachusetts between Braintree MA and North Plymouth MA in order to serve these two stations on MC per Railinc.
  2. Added MC track operating rights onto link segments in Massachusetts between Medfield Junction MA and Millis MA in order to serve these two stations on MC per Railinc.


NER track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in Indiana

Added NER track ownership rights and track operating rights onto link segments in Indiana that were previously owned by WBCR (a defunct railroad company as of January 1, 2024 per Railinc). This transaction will result in NER obtaining operational control from WBCR per multiple news sources. The newly activated NER stations from west to east include: Van Buren IN, Warren IN, Buckeye IN, Liberty Center IN, Bluffton IN and Craigville IN.


NS track operating rights changes in Missouri

Added NS track operating rights onto link segments in Missouri between Air Park MO to May Street MO in order to serve Air Park MO station on NS per Railinc.


PNWR/BNSF abandoned track segments in Oregon

Deleted PNWR-owned and BNSF-operating rights abandoned track link segments in Oregon located between 122.904350W, 45.595662N and 122.898488W, 45.543706N and manually expired the Bendemeer OR stations on BNSF and PNWR and Merle OR station on BNSF per customer request.


SRY track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in British Columbia (Canada)

Modified multiple rail barge ferry lines on Vancouver Island BC per research. Removed defunct rail barge ferry line operating between Port Alice BC and Campbell River BC per SRY map resource. The following SRY stations were deactivated per research: Port Alice BC and Campbell River BC.


UP Intermodal routing profile changes in Texas

UP has requested a “customized” routing profile modification for Intermodal traffic in Texas for the following routes:

Barbours Cut TX on UP to San Antonio TX on UP to Dit TX on UP; new distance = 554.3 miles.

Dit TX on UP to San Antonio TX on UP to Barbours Cut TX on UP; new distance = 559.6 miles.

These modifications include the following MLC value modifications:

  1. Corridor A: Dallas TX (Dit TX) to Fort Worth TX (Tower Fifty Five TX) to San Antonio TX to Houston TX (Barbours Cut TX) Intermodal route profile; changed all MLC2 values to MLC2=1; both directions; total link segments distance = 635.2 miles.
  2. Corridor B: Dallas TX (Dit TX) to Houston TX (95.285488W, 29.718922N) Intermodal route profile; changed all MLC2 values to MLC2=64; both directions; total link segments distance = 258.8 miles.
  3. Corridor C: Waco TX (97.092619W, 31.581794N) to Bryan TX (96.373530W, 30.666815N) Intermodal route profile; changed all MLC2 values to MLC2=64; both directions; total link segments distance = 87.8 miles.


UP track operating rights changes in Texas

Removed UP track operating rights from link segments in Texas located between Orr TX and Belt Junc TX. There are no active UP stations located on any of these link segments per Railinc.


VESO track operating rights changes in Oklahoma

Added VESO track operating rights onto link segment in Oklahoma between Inola OK to Tulsa Port Of Inola OK in order to serve Tulsa Port Of Inola OK on VESO.


WBCR track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in Indiana

Removed WBCR track ownership rights and track operating rights from link segments in Indiana. WBCR is a defunct railroad company as of January 1, 2024 per Railinc. This transaction will result in NER obtaining operational control from WBCR per multiple news sources. The newly deactivated WBCR stations from west to east include: Van Buren IN, Warren IN, Buckeye IN, Liberty City IN, Bluffton IN and Craigville IN.


R260 junction modifications

R260 PITTS – The R260 PITTS junction agreement in Pennsylvania between BPRR and WE has been expired effective 3/27/24 per WE. All freight traffic should route over the R260 BRUTN junction now.

***CPRS-KCS merger update*** 

The following is an important notice to our valued PC*Miler Rail customers:


The US Surface Transportation Board granted final approval of the CPRS-KCS deal on March 15, 2023. The merger was completed on April 14, 2023. This new Class I railroad company will be called Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited and will operate under the reporting mark CPKC.


Please note that the CPRS-KCS merger will not be reflected in the PC*Miler Rail v30.1 product release.


Lastly, we have no information to report as to when the CPRS-KCS merger will be modeled in our data.

  • R260 SPOKA – The R260 SPOKA junction agreement in Washington (state) between BNSF and MRL has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.
  • R260 SVRBO – The R260 SVRBO junction agreement in Montana between MRL and UP has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.


CPRS-KCS merger update

The following is an important notice to our valued PC*MILER Rail customers:

 

The US Surface Transportation Board granted final approval of the CPRS-KCS deal on March 15, 2023. The merger was completed on April 14, 2023. This new Class I railroad company will be called Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited and will operate under the reporting mark CPKC.

 

Please note that the CPRS-KCS merger will not be reflected in PC*MILER Rail 30.

 

Lastly, we have no information to report as to when the CPRS-KCS merger will be modeled in our data.
