Contents


The following enhancements were made since Version 29.2:

  • Added four new rail carriers, 185 new freight stations, and 7 new junction interchanges.
  • Removed two rail carriers, 136 freight stations, and 11 junction interchanges.
  • Total active rail carriers (876); Total active freight stations (49,089); Total active junction interchanges (4,139)
  • Made dozens of updates based on feedback from railroads.

General updates

  • BNSF – Added missing BNSF track operating rights onto a link segment between Perley MN and Georgetown MN (96.801450W, 47.177396N to 96.793205W, 47.079322N). This was needed in order to fix the gap in BNSF track operating rights.
  • CGR – Moved Salina Cruz OA station on CGR in Mexico to the correct geographical location at 95.192977W, 16.171660N per research.
  • CLNA – Added CLNA track operating rights onto link segment from Clinton NC to Moltonville NC per research.
  • CSXT – Added CSXT track operating rights onto link segments between Hoosick Junction NY and the wyes located at 73.879281W, 42.903253N and 73.900418W, 42.871004N in order to serve Hoosick Junction NY station on CSXT per research.
  • FCCM – Moved LA Gloria CH station on FCCM in Mexico to the correct geographical location at 92.232196W, 17.635229N per research.
  • FCCM – Moved Salina Cruz OA station on FCCM in Mexico to the correct geographical location at 95.192977W, 16.171660N; added FCCM track operating rights on link segment between Pearson OA and Salina Cruz OA per research.
  • FIT – Moved LA Gloria CH station on FIT in Mexico to the correct geographical location at 92.232196W, 17.635229N per research.
  • FIT – Moved Salina Cruz OA station on FIT in Mexico to the correct geographical location at 95.192977W, 16.171660N per research.
  • NS – Added missing NS track operating rights onto link segment between Hartford City IN and Dunkirk IN per research.

 

BNSF track ownership rights changes in Idaho

  • Added BNSF track ownership rights onto all link segments in Idaho that were previously owned by MRL (a defunct railroad company as of January 1, 2024, per Railinc). This transaction will provide BNSF with complete operational control of all existing BNSF freight stations located in Idaho.

 

BNSF track ownership rights changes in Montana

  • Added BNSF track ownership rights onto all link segments in Montana that were previously owned by MRL (a defunct railroad company as of January 1, 2024 per Railinc). This transaction will provide BNSF with complete operational control of all existing BNSF freight stations located in Montana.


CGR track operating rights changes in Mexico

Note: Mexican States Key: GJ = Guanajuato; JA = Jalisco; MH = Michoacan; QA = Queretaro
  • Removed CGR track operating rights from link segments between Leon GJ and the wye located at 101.350448W, 20.696633N; between Silao and the wye located at 101.429605W, 20.940257N and between San Jose Iturbide GJ and Chichimequillas QA per research. The newly deactivated CGR stations from west to east include: Leon GJ, Silao GJ and San Jose Iturbide GJ.
  • Removed CGR track operating rights from link segments between Guadalajara JA and Camcel JA per research. The newly deactivated CGR stations from west to east include: Guadalajara JA, La Junta JA and Camcel JA.
  • Removed CGR track operating rights from link segments between Camcel JA and the wye located at 100.809282W, 20.532734N per research. The newly deactivated CGR station is Camcel JA.
  • Removed CGR track operating rights from link segments between Viscosa MH and the wye located at 101.740045W, 19.483582N per research. The newly deactivated CGR stations from north to south include:
  • Viscosa MH and Zacapu MH.
  • Removed CGR track operating rights from link segments between Uruapan MH and Queretaro QA per research. The newly deactivated CGR stations from west to east include: Uruapan MH and Morelia MH.

 

EOVR track operating rights changes in Ohio

  • Added EOVR track operating rights onto link segments from Powhatan OH to terminus near the Ohio River located at 80.859994W, 39.696730N per research. The newly activated EOVR stations from north to south include: Clarington OH, Omal OH and Long Ridge OH.

The newly deactivated MRL stations listed in alphabetical order include: Clark Fork ID, Kootenai ID and Sandpoint ID.

 

MRL track ownership rights and track operating rights changes in Montana

  • Removed MRL track ownership rights and track operating rights from all link segments in Montana. MRL is a defunct railroad company as of January 1, 2024 per Railinc. This transaction will result in BNSF obtaining operational control from MRL per multiple news sources.

RI track operating rights changes in Mississippi

  • Added RI track operating rights onto link segments from Clarksdale MS to Swan Lake MS. The newly activated RI stations from north to south include: Clarksdale MS, Sumner MS, Webb MS and Swan Lake MS.
  • Removed RI track operating rights from link segment between Mikoma MS and Swan Lake MS.

 

TCWR track operating rights changes in Minnesota

  • Added TCWR track operating rights onto link segment between Tower E 14 MN and Eden Prairie MN in order to serve Eden Prairie MN station on TCWR.


UP track operating rights changes in Oregon

  • Added UP track operating rights onto link segment between Dry Creek OR and Greenberry OR in order to serve Greenberry OR station on UP.

  • R260 GARSM – The R260 GARSM junction agreement in Montana between BNSF and MRL has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.
  • R260 HELNA – The R260 HELNA junction agreement in Montana between BNSF and MRL has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.
  • R260 LUREL – The R260 LUREL junction agreement in Montana between BNSF and MRL has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.
  • R260 SNDPT – The R260 SNDPT junction agreement in Idaho between MRL and UP has been expired because MRL is a defunct railroad company per multiple sources.

CPRS-KCS merger update

The following is an important notice to our valued PC*MILER Rail customers:

 

The US Surface Transportation Board granted final approval of the CPRS-KCS deal on March 15, 2023. The merger was completed on April 14, 2023. This new Class I railroad company will be called Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited and will operate under the reporting mark CPKC.

 

Please note that the CPRS-KCS merger will not be reflected in PC*MILER Rail 30.

 

Lastly, we have no information to report as to when the CPRS-KCS merger will be modeled in our data.
