PC*MILER Rail’s AutoRouter and Junction Helper can both help you build routes when you are not exactly sure of all of the railroads and junctions you want to include in your route. The main differences are:

  • AutoRouter is intended for users who may not have specific rail routing knowledge. It generates a list of possible routes between the station locations that are entered. It returns a finite set of junctions for the route by selecting the most logical options.
  • Junction Helper requires more knowledge of railroad companies and freight traffic movement scenarios. It produces a comprehensive list of junctions, which allows you to customize the route.
